The Route
The two 105km race starts at World's View and finishes at the Shongweni Polo Club in Hillcrest. The 40km Half Marathon starts at Mahogany Ridge Farm at Cato Ridge and also finishes at the Shongweni Polo Club
The race starts at Worlds View in Hilton, loops around on a gravel road before entering a short section of single track, drops down a hill, turns onto a rocky dirt track, enters a section of single track before entering Wyllie Park in Pietermaritzburg
The route then follows a tar section of about 4 kilometres through Pietermaritzburg with a bit of urban riding, to Alexandra Park, it then follows a beautiful singletrack running next to the Umgeni River to a tar section leading up to an intersection of the Richmond Road on Fox Hill
Riders will then enter the region of Bisley with the Bisley Nature Reserve on a gravel road before climbing the first major hill, Friesland Hill, crossing the Umlaas Rd and entering a section of cane track leading up to Mike's Hill, the second major hill on the route
Gravel road, cane track and a section of single track leads to Mahogany Farm, Cato Ridge
From Cato Ridge there is a section of single track to a short section of tar and gravel road bypassing Cato Ridge past the Cato Ridge Golf Club which leads to a tunnel under the railway before heading to the back of Rainbow Farm outside Cato Ridge. Riders climb up to Bartlett Estate and after a torturous climb will be rewarded with a water table, before entering a short section of single track. Riders will then drop before a climb up to the main Hammarsdale Road
Cane track, dirt road and single track lead to the gravel road going up Sunrise Hill on Key Ridge. The route then heads towards Summerveld on a short section of tar and dirt road, before entering a section of great single track and a fast downhill cane track to the last small climb before a fast flat section leading to the tunnel under the N3 and to the finish at Durban Shongweni Polo Club

Seeding
For the first time all riders in the 2008 Sunday Tribune Hill 2 Hill will be seeded and batched for the start at Hilton. To do this fairly we are asking riders to submit their best race result from a series of events we feel will provide a fair reflection of a rider's ability in the Hill 2 Hill.
The seeding form on www.hill2hill.co.za will do all the hard maths work, all you need to do is fill in your race result (which are available in alphabetical order from the links below). If you do not enter a seeding event you will be placed in the final batch.
Seeding closes on September 10, 2008. The confirmed rider lists will indicate if your seeding has been submitted (but please be aware there will be at delay of up to 10 days from submitting your seeding to the confirmation going on the website.
Seeding batches will only be released at race registration on Saturday, September 20
