75km Route
So that all supporters may see, the race adventure begins in front of Harriston School entrance. From here riders will be escorted through Harrismith subburbs, heading for the main gate into the Platberg Nature Reserve, with a 10km spectator "show off" ride back to the main gate, up a short 23 climb all along the reserve fence on jeep track. The first big climb starts at 16km , where Water point No.1 will bring relief to some riders. Here the challenge to the King of the Mountain Hotspot at 20 km mark, becomes serious. Water point No. 2 awaits riders at the "Akkerbos" after a small climb into dense forest area followed by an awesome 3 km single downhill track down into the Botanical Gardens

From the Botanical Gardens riders will ride up a single track towards the "Old Sawmill" where the split starts between 38 km and 75 km. The big ascent of 350m up to "the donkey pass" on a rockey jeep track through the forest will take riders up to a magnificent panoramic view, where Water point No. 1A gladly awaits all deserving riders that make it up to this point. The fact that you are up on top will bring you and more of your friends back to next year's event

From here riders will follow a jeep track all along the foot of "Platberg Mountain" towards the "Northern Gate" ( Water Point No. 3) followed by another jeep track that takes riders to the back of the mountain with breath taking views of sand stone formation cliff's and caves. Now you are halfway, still on jeep track followed by single track leading to a pleasant welcome Water Point No 4 on a "Game farm" farmstead. After a refreshing time spend with "braaivleis" smell, riders will follow a 1,5km single track onto a 2 km of secondary gravel road which knits another 1km single track together. Surprisingly Water Point No. 5 will definitely be welcomed by all riders with 57 km already behind them

Heading home on cattle and jeep tracks with small steep climbs, riders will head back to the "Northern Gate" of the "Platberg Nature Reserve". From here, there is only 8km to the finish and its all downhill, with some unwanted small climbs towards the "Main Entrance". Riding into Harrismith suburb, straight down to the Green Pavilion around the cricket field to the finish line, opposite the grand stands, with a smile on a face saying "WALLA" I've MADE IT

38km Route
The start of the 38km race is the same as the 75km route up to the King of the mountain, down the single track to "Botanical Garden" and up to the saw mill. Here the split takes place between the 75km and 38km routes where the 38km riders turns left following a jeep track which will take riders up to "Die Skuiling" with an ascent of 200m and a well deserved Water Point No 3. Followed by a technical rocky single track back to the "Main Entrance". Also riding into Harrismith suburb, straight down to the Green Pavilion around the cricket field to the finish line, opposite the grand stands, with a smile on a face saying WALLA I've MADE IT.
