At interim stages: Runners who can’t pass the following marks in the stipulated times will not be allowed to continue. 31.65km in 4 hours (Turning point) Half: At the finish: 4 hours (walkers welcome)
Ultra: All SA entrants must have a valid ASA license by the time they enter. One race number will be issued, to be displayed on the upper body garment at all times. Race number in front, license number at back. Half: Athletes must turn 16 on 1 January 2012 to be allowed to participate in the half marathon race. All SA entrants must have a valid ASA license by the time they enter. Temporary licenses available at R25.
Ultra: Runners must at least turn 20 during 2012 to enter. Runners are required to have run a qualifying marathon (42.2km) between1st of January and 18 September 2012 or another ultra marathon within the cut-off time.

* The race is organized in accordance with the rules of Athletics South Africa and Boland Athletics.
* Traffic officials must be obeyed at all times, failing which, disqualification may follow.
* Refreshment tables every 3 km on route.
