Rules

1. This race is run in accordance with the rules of ASA and CGA
2. Athletes must ensure that they are medically fit to participate
3. Athletes indemnify the national, provincial and regional bodies, sponsors and organisers of the race against all and any actions of whatsoever nature, whatever same may be arising out of their participation in the race
4. Athletes participate at their own risk
5. No blades, cyclists or mechanically propelled devices allowed in the race
6. No seconding allowed
7. Regret no wheelchair athletes will be allowed to participate due to the nature of the course
8. Registered athletes must be a member of a club affiliated to asa, wear club colours and two 2012 licence numbers (back and front)
9. Unlicensed athletes will require temporary licenses for the 21 km races (cost R20.00) and 10 km races (cost R15.00), to be worn on the back and the issued race number on the front. Plain clothing is to be worn by temporary licenced athletes
10. Minimum age for 21 km race is 16 years and for 10km race is 14 years. Only junior athletes between 15 and 19 years of age qualify for the prize money
11. Numerical age category id tags must be worn clearly visible on front & back (this includes juniors)
12. Proof of age for prize winners will be required and to be presented to the referees before prize giving. Prizes will be withheld until age is confirmed
13. Walkers must wear "walker" tags front & back. Walkers must keep contact with the ground and straight legs walkers to wear short pants to ensure outline of the legs is visible to the judges. Blatant running will lead to disqualification. three warning will lead to disqualification
14. Cut off time: 10am
15. Athletes will only be eligible for prizes in one age category
16. Athletes walking for prize money may not wear long pants
17. Regret athletes not allowed to participate with pets (dogs)
18. International athletes must provide a clearance letter to the referee in the event of them winning a prize
19. All traffic officials and officials instructions to be obeyed
