The technically challenging Ride the Rhenoster is intended to test your skills, provide lots of fun, and show you some of the extraordinarily beautiful sites of the Rhenosterspruit Nature Conservancy. The distance is about 35km, and you will climb more than 850 meters - fitness is important if you are to finish!
Every year the event has evoked appreciation in riders who celebrate the joy of riding through terrain relatively unspoilt, so close to the city. The variety offered by the trail is also exciting. Miles Crisp takes you on single-track, dirt roads that shake the up the best 4x4's, and through areas without tracks. Highs and lows - plenty. Scenic vistas where you can pause and enjoy nature. The trail includes sections which are ordinarily closed to the public. For this one day a year, residents open private property and allow mountain bikers to "ride for conservation".
